As the air starts to cool, it is time to crank up the slow cooker meals. I don’t know about you, but I tend to use my slow cooker (crockpot) more during the fall and winter seasons. Although, it is a time saver year round…Tis the season!!! There is something about the cool air. It makes me want the crockpot out on the kitchen counter with something yummy in it. It is possible it is a mind thing because of the fallback time change. So getting meals started earlier is a win-win.
Ingredients:
-
Ground Turkey
-
Crushed Tomatoes
-
Tomato Sauce
-
Bell Peppers
-
Frozen Corn
-
Black Beans or kidney beans
-
Chili Seasoning Pack
Prepare your ground turkey until no longer pink before adding to the crockpot. I like to drain and rinse the beans. The only thing left to do is to combine all the ingredients in the crockpot on your desired time.
Optional suggested toppings:
-
Cheese
-
Sour Cream
-
Avocado
I am sure there are other toppings for different taste pallets. My topping of choice is a little cheese. My family likes to have chili with rice and cornbread at times. I remember as a kid I used to crumble my cornbread up in the rice and chili. Why not, right?
