Having young adults you don’t feel the need to cook often. Come on, I mentioned this before. Nowadays, I cook to let them know that I still can. So as they move out, I can get them over for a meal. Right!! My daughter thinks she can out cook me already. Heck, she thinks she can beat Bobby Flay. So I have to keep searching for different meal inspirations. Keeping her on her toes.

I am intentionally looking for new meals to make. Ready to tweak and add my spin to it. It is all about how you see it. Meals that inspires me to be in the kitchen. It is easy for me to change the ingredients, add my spices and make it my own.
What you will need:
- Turkey Sausage
- Cabbage
- Red Potatoes
- Vegetable Broth
- Salt
- Pepper
- Spices to your taste
- Shredded Carrots (optional)
This is a meal I never thought to try. I mean, who knew potatoes, cabbage, and sausages was this tasty together. In the slow cooker. I am always down for a nice slow cooker meal.

First, chop your turkey sausages up and put to the side. No extra seasoning for the meat. Then chop your cabbage and potatoes and put in separate bowls. I like seasoning my cabbage and potatoes outside of the slow cooker. Combine all the ingredients including and the carrots if you choose to add them in the slow cooker and mix. You want the ingredients to mix evenly. Then add about two cups of broth. I cooked on high for 6 hours.

When I say, this meal was a hit. Whew! Something new to chew. Ok, that was corny, but they did clean their plates. And went back for seconds and thirds.
You can add this meal over some rice as well. Especially if you’re a fan of rice. I am sure that is something my mother would do. Rice with everything. I would definitely make this meal again.
Let me know if you will try this meal out. Your family will love it.
